31 Day Blog Challenge–Day 1

I received a img_4910131 Day challenge to blog about myself. I realized that I generally say very little about myself in my blogs, so if you are game, I’m going to participate. I hope you will find it fun and interesting and maybe even blog about yourself!

Day 1

I am deeply committed to creating workplaces where people feel important and appreciated. I desire for leaders to be open and collaborative in order to get the best work out of people. I’ve worked in terribly divisive and unsupportive environments and it doesn’t have to be that way.

Maybe it’s because one of my top values is acceptance, I value everyone’s differences and opinions. I have friends and colleagues that are conservative, liberal and all along the continuum. I love meeting new people from different cultures and learning about them.

It is these passions that I have parlayed into a business that helps leaders become their best. I coach, mentor and provide solutions for individuals and organizations so that at work, where we spend at least third of our lives, we can grow, thrive and be our best selves.

Personally, I enjoy camping with my husband and three golden retrievers. I maintain connections from long ago and keep relationships going. I was in the U.S. Navy and loved the spirit of camaraderie that I felt with my shipmates (and still have to this day).

Below is a photo with my former shipmate Susan at a reunion in St. Augustine, October 2015.
