31-Day Blog Challenge Day 24

Fave Childhood Book

I still have it. Really.  I just pulled it out and had a look at it, and it dawned on me. I have a dreamy optimism, and this must have made quite an impression on me.

The book is Miranda’s Beautiful Dream (Robert Kraus. 1964).  It’s on Amazon as well. Ha! I don’t know how or miranda3why I kept it all these years.

It’s about a kitten, named Miranda and she has beautiful dreams. It’s beautifully illustrated for the day, and it talks about natural enemies being friends, “She dreamed cats and mice were friends…She dreamed that spiders and flies were brothers and ladybugs and lady bees were sisters. She dreamed that the lion lay down with the lamb.”   I still love the sentiment of the story. Why can’t we all get along?

Taking the book out reminds me how much I love a good story, and I love to read. It reminds me that for 2016 I will schedule reading for pleasure. Do you have a sweet book that you loved?
